Elegant Comfort

Comfort ruled on the New York catwalks. No longer reserved just for loungewear, designers elevated cosy knitted items with the unapologetically feminine aesthetics that we predicted would be key for A/W 24. Knitted dresses were imbued with an elegance that works for evening and even occasionwear, going bold with splashes of red and pink.

Hyper Texture

Super-tactile surfaces dominated, appearing everywhere from knitwear to accessories. Plush fabrics and fuzzy yarns created must-touch finishes while dramatic fringing provided a glamorous edge, as forecasted in our catwalk preview.

The Classics: Revisited

Elsewhere, designers favoured timeless staples, creating keep-forever classics that translate well from the catwalks into women’s real-life wardrobes. Subtle twists kept things fresh – think traditional trench coats recontextualised in leather or denim and wide-leg jeans smartened up with tailoring details.
