2023 was dubbed the “Year of the Girl”, accompanied by various aesthetics centred around the word “girl”. This trend gained momentum due to the global success of the Barbie movie and the Eras and Renaissance tours from Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, which generated billions of dollars worldwide and influenced many parallel industries.

With two seasons already marked by the return of feminine and romantic motifs, we can expect to see a continued love for #NewFemininity themes in womenswear this autumn/winter, which is expected to evolve until 2026.

Going big and bold, unapologetically feminine bows, frills and ruffles will be a key design detail. Expect to see punchy shades of red and pink, stand-out floral prints and lashings of attitude on the runway this season.
