Since 2012, RHINOSHIELD has revolutionised the device protection industry in Taiwan. Founded with the mission to “Protect Your World”, the brand is established as a pioneer in material technology for device accessories. Its innovative approach to mono-materials ensures 100% recyclable products, positioning RHINOSHIELD as a leader in protection and environmental responsibility.

The challenge
RHINOSHIELD faced a critical mission: maintaining its commitment to sustainability and high protection standards while creating products that captivate young consumers. This required a deep understanding of evolving consumer preferences and emerging design trends that resonate with a new generation of tech-savvy, environmentally conscious users.

The collaboration with WGSN
To address these challenges, RHINOSHIELD partnered with WGSN, leveraging its expertise in trend forecasting and consumer insights:
- WGSN’s sustainability forecasts helped RHINOSHIELD explore innovative materials and global sustainability initiatives beyond Taiwan
- Consumer insights provided a crucial understanding of young consumer preferences
- Implementation of WGSN’s colour insights into a new product design
The collaboration culminated in the launch of Taiwan’s first 100% recycled mobile phone case, the CircularNext Sustainable Phone Case. It features WGSN’s 2023 key colour, Digital Lavender and is crafted entirely from recycled phone cases and production leftovers.

The results

Looking ahead
RHINOSHIELD launched the second generation of the CircularNext Series in 2025, taking full control of manufacturing in its own facility. The focus remains on its core values: sustainability and superior protection without compromise.
