5 key colours for A/W 22/23
WGSN calls out five key colours for A/W 22/23, as seen at the New York and London Fashion Weeks.
1. Dark Oak
Designers favoured the timeless shade of Dark Oak as a fresh alternative to black for the season. Evolving from the tinted blacks we’ve seen in previous seasons, this revamped classic showed its transseasonal appeal across dresses and separates, tapping into the Modern Occasion trend.
2. Oat Milk
Oat Milk is cementing itself as a key neutral for the season. This warm and creamy hue gives a sophisticated edge to outerwear and tailoring, with brands embracing matching sets across collections.
3. Honeycomb
Evolving from Butter, which we forecast for S/S 22, designers embraced the richer hue of Honeycomb. Part of a collection of ochre tones, this golden yellow adds an uplifting warmth to the season.
4. Lazuli Blue
Updating basic navy with more character and richness, Lazuli Blue is a natural, mineral blue inspired by the precious pigment of ultramarine. Designers embraced the versatility of this shade and used it across all product areas. This deep, regal shade brings opulence to womenswear and stands out across a number of fabrics, from high-shine to matte.
5. Digital Lavender
Our Colour of the Year for 2023, Digital Lavender is a sensorial shade that connects to holistic wellbeing and digital optimism, evoking stability, serenity and balance. With its soothing blue undertones, designers embraced this pale purple for its gender-inclusive and transseasonal appeal.
